Tulum is nominated for best beach destination in World Travel Awards 2020

Located on the Caribbean coast of Mexico, in the Yucatan Peninsula, Tulum is a paradisiacal beach epicenter with white sand and turquoise sea.

Thinking of Tulum refers us to a coastal area with mangroves and cenotes, ruins that preserve the wisdom of an ancient Mayan port and that peace that only a sea of its color can offer in the face of the most unruly and/or conflictive everyday thought that we keep in our mind. For this reason, and many others, Tulum has been nominated as the ‘Best Beach Destination’ in Mexico and Central America by ‘the World Tourism Oscars’, held this year.

There are beaches in Mexico that are waiting for us as eagerly as we are for them, and Tulum is definitely on the list.

However, in the World Travel Awards 2020 it will have strong opponents such as Ambergris Caye or the largest island in Belize that is visited for its water sports, diving, and its beaches in the Caribbean. Also, on the shortlist is the Isla Bastimentos National Park in Panama, located in the Bocas del Toro Archipelago near the city of Bocas del Toro and the Ngäbe-Buglé Salt Creek indigenous village. Cancun and the Riviera Maya are added to the list by raising the Mexican flag to add Jacó in Costa Rica.

Jacó is popular for congregating beaches where lovers of surfing and bohemian life go, being a city on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, southwest of the capital, San José. Jacó Beach its gray and rocky sand, with large, televised waves and a fauna that is home to crocodiles and macaws. In addition to witnessing the benefits of nature thanks to its tropical forest that reaches the Bijagual waterfall.

The world tourism awards ceremony closes its voting on September 24. You can choose the 'Best Beach Destination in Mexico and Central America' through its official website (www.wordltravelawards.com/vote), where there are other categories around the globe such as the 'Best Destination to Escape 2020', where the city of Oaxaca, Mexico City, Acapulco, Cancun, Mazatlán, Tijuana, Playa del Carmen, Panama and San José in Costa Rica are nominated.
